George Chopek

George served 27 years as a law enforcement officer/investigator in the State of New Jersey which included many facets of police work from investigator/detective, patrol functions, street crimes, tactical response/narcotics entry team member to serving as a member of the FBI’s Gang Unit as a sworn Deputy United States Marshall.
George has served in the ranks of Investigator, Detective, Detective 1st Class, Sergeant, Lieutenant and Bureau Chief/Commander. He has been a working detective, supervisor and bureau commander in the Sex Crimes Unit (SVU), Child Abuse Unit, Gang Unit, Narcotics Unit, ICAC Unit with most of his career served in the Major Crimes Unit (MCU), focusing on homicide and death investigations. George is the Child Abduction Response Team (CART) Coordinator for his county as well as the commander of his agencies uniformed Community Policing Unit (CPU).
During his law enforcement career, George received numerous commendations for meritorious service and is a certified law enforcement instructor. George is the guest speaker at many venues and presents to audiences large and small on the subjects of death investigations, child abduction, community policing and various other law enforcement subject matters.
George is strong advocate for the community policing model and believes that a strong partnership between law enforcement and the public is key to a prosperous community.
