NPS-AID Platform Upgrade: Major Migration Delivers Upgraded Real-Time API Integration for Safer, Smarter Public Safety Outcomes

We’re thrilled to announce that the NPS-AID platform has just completed a comprehensive system-wide migration and architectural upgrade — moving to an even more modern, API-first, high-availability cloud infrastructure with enhanced security protocols, optimized data pipelines, and enterprise-grade scalability.

The centerpiece of this upgrade? Full production deployment of our advanced secure, real-time CAD/PSAP API. Dispatch centers and public safety agencies can now, even more easily than ever, integrate directly with NPS-AID via an all new and more robust, standards-based API. This enables seamless, bidirectional data exchange with nearly ANY reasonably modern CAD system— delivering critical participant profiles, medical/behavioral alerts, de-escalation guidance, and live situational awareness straight into Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) workflows the moment a call is received. No more tab-switching. No more delayed information. Just instant, actionable intelligence at the exact moment it’s needed.

This isn’t just a technical win — it’s a game-changer for community safety.

  • For individuals with disabilities (especially those on the autism spectrum and their families), it means first responders arrive better prepared, more confident, and equipped to prevent escalation or misunderstanding during routine stops, emergencies, or missing-person cases.
  • For law enforcement and dispatch teams, it translates into faster, safer, and more compassionate interactions — reducing risk for officers and the communities they serve.

The result? Fewer preventable incidents, stronger trust between public safety and the disability community, and a truly nationwide, cross-jurisdictional safety net that works the way modern technology should.

We designed this upgrade in partnership with our  law enforcement and public safety partners because we believe technology should bridge gaps — not create them. In addition to the new advanced API flow, this upgrade includes additional resources for our participating members such as the ability to add multiple images, file and record upload, expanded resource fields and more. As the new platform stabilizes, we’re rolling out expanded agency onboarding and integration support as well.

If you’re with a dispatch center, CAD vendor, or state/local public safety agency, let’s talk about how easy it is to plug in.

And to our amazing non-profit friends, state stakeholders, and every Autism and disability advocate following along — this one’s for you. We’re building the much needed tools that turn awareness into action.

Big thanks to the entire NPS-AID and OPS Network team for making these updates,  migration and API launch possible. The future of inclusive public safety just got a major upgrade.
